The center’s signature feature, a 5,000 sq. ft. orchid and tropical plant greenhouse contains the largest selection of these exotic flowers in the Triangle. The center is also known for its expertise in water gardening, its knowledgeable staff, and a wide selection of sought after plants.

Professional Landscape Design Team 

Whether you're looking for a single tree installation or a full-blown landscape project, our designers have the knowledge and experience to guide you through the design process, creating a custom landscape that meets your budget and exceeds your expectations. Quality landscaping of your home and surrounding grounds can increase its value and bring you years of enjoyment.

Tired of buying plants without having a clear vision of how they will fit together? AAOG has the solution for you, with our full range of design and installation services. Our designers can develop anything from a quick sketch to get you started, to a master plan for your home, which can be completed in phases to suit your budget.

SUPERIOR PLANTS AND KNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF

Our knowledgeable staff helps you find the right plant for the right place for your landscape. We specialize in native and deer- and drought-resistant plants which work well in North Carolina. Because there are multiple options for every landscape environment, we invite you to stop by the nursery and work with our staff and designers to view the plants we are recommending and to see all the options we have available for your landscape.

One-Hour Consultation

This service includes:

An Interview to determine your likes and dislikes. This will help in what you would enjoy ultimately in your landscape.

• Evaluation of the property or part of the specific areas you would like to landscape.
• Assess the sun/shade and environmental factors such as deer/vole problems.
• Recommend the best possible plant species to accommodate those factors.
• Schedule a visit to AAOG to see the plants in person, if desired.

Formal Landscape Design Services

This may include a design of just a portion of your landscape (for short term use), to a full master plan (for long term planning).

A designer evaluates your property or the specific areas you would like to landscape.The designer selects specific plants (unlike our one-hour consultation) and provides you with several options of plants to choose from, removing the dreaded guess work.

Our designer meets you at your home to interview you on your likes and dislikes. (If the design is for a couple, we wish for both to be present for this part of the project).

We assess the sun/shade and environmental factors such as deer and voles.

We take measurements and photos to create a scale drawing. (We also ask that you have your plot map available).

More than one visit to the site may be necessary, but this is not typical.

Our designer will generate bedding ideas, planting suggestions and layout, hardscape ideas and grading issues, all done to scale.

Once the design process is complete, the designer will schedule a meeting with you to discuss your design at either your property or at AAOG. We encourage meetings at the garden center so we can easily show you the plant material we are recommending for your landscape.

At this time, you can either decide to purchase plants and install them yourself, or take of advantage of our planting services.

Planting Services

AAOG offers planting services of your tree, shrub and annuals and perennial plantings. After selecting your plant material at the nursery, our professional staff will deliver and install the material on site. Plantings of trees and shrubs come with soil amendments for each tree, shrub, and/or planting along with fertilizer and root stimulator. We offer a 100%, 6-month warranty on all trees and shrubs planted. Please come by or call for additional pricing or information on this great service.

Our professional staff also offers container design and installation, either on-site, or at our nursery for you to take home. We will help you pick out your plant material while keeping in mind your sun/shade factors and environment. Please come in for more details.
